General Conduct
The General Conduct is as follows:

Length of Stay: It is suggested for the resident to stay approximately 3 months minimum. Residents who plan to depart are requested to give 2-4-week notice.
Participation Fees: The weekly program fee is $175.00 which is due no later than Wednesday at the house meeting. Participants are responsible for all program fees associated with their stay. If fees are not paid for the week you are currently living there, you may be asked to leave. Please see The Sober Pad Fee Agreement for more information. *Fees are subject to change
Chain of Command: All residents are expected to follow the chain of command daily. This entails any questions or concerns to be bought to the CRRA first. If a situation is crucial or the resident does not feel comfortable approaching the CRRA, then they have permission to discuss the situation with the Owner. A list is available in the common space of the home, that includes phone numbers for the CRRA and the Owner.
Emergency Situations: On the back of every bedroom and bathroom door, you will find an escape plans for your house. In the common space, you will find the address to give to any emergency response team when calling.
Productive Member: Residents are expected to hold down a job, attend school and/or volunteer at least part time, regardless of how their program fees are being paid. This is toteach each resident about being a part of society and to guarantee they are doing something productive with their time. Residents are encouraged to participate in daily community activities of physical, social, and creative nature.
Sponsor & Home Group: A resident in the program is required to have an approved, local, active Recovery Program sponsor within two weeks of arrival. You may get a temporary sponsor at first if need be. You are required to get a home group and a commitment at that home group. The Sober Pad offers one meeting a week and encourage all residents and former residents, or Alumni, to participate in this meeting. The opportunity to lead the meeting will be offered to each regularly attending participant. Meeting details can be found listed in the common space. While on Phase 1, you will be required to have a meeting sheet signed.

Code of Conduct: All residents are required to read, understand, and sign the Code of Conduct upon intake.
Resident Recovery Plan: A resident Recovery Plan will be completed as a part of the Intake process. This plan will include an exit plan and/or lifelong plan. The purpose of this form is to ensure each resident has a personalized recovery plan, that helps to establish long term goals. While professional services are included on the plan, residents are not required to seek Professional Clinical Services, unless determined otherwise by another Policy or Procedure, regarding safety.

Daily Planners: Residents on Phase 1 are required to complete a Daily Planner every morning Mon-Fri. Daily Planners are to be collected every Wednesday at the house Meeting. Daily Planners can be found in the common space of the home.

Meeting Sheets: Residents considered Phase 1are required to complete a Meeting Sheet every week showing that each resident is attending at least one meeting daily, making 5 a week no matter what. Meeting attendance requirements are based on Phases. Attending Church and time working your steps with your sponsor or sponsee does count as meeting attendance, however IOP and Therapy do not. Meeting Sheets are to be turned in at the Mandatory House Meeting.

Mandatory Meeting: Every Wednesday at 6:00pm there is a mandatory house meeting. The meeting is to review the residents’ daily goals, discuss any struggles or improvements that are occurring and offer/receive to feedback from residents. The only excused nonattendance is work with a work schedule provided.

Hospital Trips: If at any time you go to the hospital for medical attention, upon return to property, you are to come immediately into the office for a urine analysis and breathalyzer test before returning to your residence.
​
Phases: The Sober Pad utilizes a four-phase system, that is explained in the Program Phases form signed at intake. All residents’ achievements and successes are utilized to move them through the phase process. Phases determine additional privileges.
Overnight Passes: The request for an overnight pass must be presented to staff for approval in writing with timely notice. Overnight passes are a privilege, not a right. Passes depend upon being in a phase 3 or higher, your behavior during the preceding weeks and your plans for the pass. All program fees must be up to date, or you must be adhering to your payment plan to be approved. When signing for a pass, a contact must be given. The exception to this rule for phase 1s and 2s is overnight passes with family or for court appearances when the pass is absolutely necessary only. Upon return from pass, regardless of the reason for the pass, you are to come immediately notify staff and take a urine analysis and breathalyzer test.
Curfew: Curfew hours are 10:00 PM for phase 1, 11:00 PM for Phase 2, 11:00 PM for Phase 3 Sunday through Thursday and 12:00 AM Friday and Saturday, 12:00 AM for Phase 4. Residents who work to hours after curfews are expected to return home directly after they finish their shift. A work schedule must be provided to staff. If you are going to be late for any reason, you must contact a staff member prior to being late and notify them once back on property.

Extended Curfew: The request for an extended curfew must be presented to staff within an appropriate timeline. Extended curfews are a privilege, not a right and depend upon being in a phase 4, your behavior during the preceding weeks and your plans for the extension. The exception to this rule for phase 1s, 2s, and 3s is recovery based, pre-planned events with a minimum of 72 hrs. notice and a sober contact that we may verify your attendance with prior.

Property Relationships: ARE PROHIBITED! There is to be NO physical contact of any kind on property. No PDA on property of any kind, whether there is a relationship in place or not.
​
Conduct: Residents are requested to not make any “Twelve Step Calls” unless staff or their sponsor ask them. In those situations, residents are required to take multiple members of the fellowship with them who have a year or more of recovery time in place.
​
Medications: Residents are required to hand all prescription medications over to the staff on admission. Residents will be in turn given a one-week medication box to fill with a week supply of their medication. There will be no use of any controlled substance on the property, Doctor prescribed or not, this includes Medical Marijuana. Medication boxes can be refilled Wednesdays before thehouse meeting. You are responsible for managing your own medications and keeping the week supply you are given in a safe place. You agree that The Sober Pad CAN NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE IF YOU ABUSE YOUR MEDICATIONS, WHICH CAN LEAD TO SERIOUS HEALTH PROBLEMS AND EVEN DEATH. YOU MUST CONSULT WITH YOUR DOCTOR ABOUT ALL ISSUES AND SIDE EFFECTS RELATED TO YOUR MEDICATIONS or the decision to come off any medications. If you are discovered to be using abuse-able drugs later, after you have moved into the house or found abusing your current medication by taking more than prescribed, this may result in immediate discharge

OTC Medications: A list of all Over the Counter Medications acceptable here at Sober Pad can be found in the common space of the home. If at any time, you are unsure of an OTC, please speak with staff prior to taking the medication. The purpose of this is to reduce the likelihood of a false positive on a twelve-panel urine analysis.

Property: While living at The Sober Pad we hold the right to search all belongings you bring with you onto our property. Including but not limited to any belongings in the rooms, vehicles parked on our property, or personal bags.
​
Personal Appearance and Dress Code: A resident is to keep his/her personal appearance neat and clean. Dress code is expected to be always appropriate. This means shorts are expected to be an appropriate length, shirts and shoes must be always worn outside of the house. Personal hygiene is always expected.
​
Rooms & Common Areas: Each room is set for one to two individuals. The space assigned to you is based on sharing accordingly, with your current, expected, or possible roommate. Please do not infringe on someone else’s space. Common areas are large enough to comfortable hold each resident and approved guest. All rooms are subject to be searched randomly. The house is to be kept to the expected level of cleanliness or chores may be assigned. Residents are expected to be out of bed by 9:00 AM Monday through Friday, 10:00 AM Saturday and Sunday. When leaving the residence all lights and TVs are expected to be turned off. If the house is found in a state deemed inappropriate, Staff reserves the right to revoke privileges and have each resident spend the weekend participating in a cleaning party.
Residents are responsible for their own laundry. Laundry is not to be left unattended in or on the machines. Linens are to be washed weekly. Please be aware of the time when you start a load of wash. The machines are for the use of the residents only.
Parking and Vehicles: Sober Pad offers an abundance of parking spaces, so when parking, do not block the sidewalks or neighboring properties. To park your vehicle at Sober Pad, it must have current registration, insurance and you must have a valid driver’s license.

Volume Control: Be respectful of other residents and neighbors by exercising noise control.
​
Smoking: Smoking is never permitted inside the home and is allowed only in designated smoking sections, which are disclosed at admission.
​
Lewd and Offensive Language: Residents are expected to refrain from the use of all lewd or offensive language inside and outside of the home.
​
Interacting with a Neighbor: Residents are always expected to interact with neighbors with the upmost respect. If a neighbor approaches a resident with a complaint, the resident is to politely offer the contact information for the owner of the home and/or the CRRA.
​
Maintenance: If something in the house breaks, please notify staff immediately. Once staff has been made aware of the issue, we will address the request in a timely fashion.

Miscellaneous:

No using drugs /alcohol or having possession of drug/alcohol. Any substance use or possessions of any substance can be ground for immediate discharge.

A refusal to UA or BA is considered a fail and will be treated as such.

No criminal activity. Criminal Activity can be ground for immediate discharge.

Threats either verbal or physical, acts of violence or fighting on or off property can be ground for immediate discharge.
-
Property destruction or altering the physical construct of the premises, including interior walls can be ground for immediate discharge.
-
Unaccountable or discrepancies in times on property can be ground for immediate discharge.
-
Lying on any paperwork or to Staff can be ground for immediate discharge.
-
Failure to comply with rules and/or direction from staff can be ground for immediate discharge.
-
Be respectful of others and their belongings.
-
You may not enter anyone else’s room, unless invited.

Guests are limited to sponsors and are only permitted in the common spaces of the home.

Always clean up after yourself.
-
Do not touch any of the fire detectors.

There is no sharing of any personal belongings with residence or staff at any time. This includes clothing and money. Any resident that is aware of rule infractions and does not notify staff immediately will be subject to discharge, which includes finding out later that you knew about it.

Any medical issues and/or injuries must be bought to the attention of Owner immediately.

If there is an emergency, call 911 and then notify Owner or CRRA immediately.

If you should leave any personal belongings behind, they will be held for 48 hrs. to be picked up. If they are not picked up in this time, they will be given to charity.

No Hazardous Items on property or to be found in your possession: Items that are deemed to be Hazardous are as follows:
Abusable Drugs
Prescriptions not written to the resident found in possession
Alcohol
Hygiene items with Alcohol listed in the first 3 ingredients
Paraphernalia
Non-alcoholic beer
Weapons
This is not a complete list of all possible rules and/or violations that may happen, so to insure a healthy, happy, drug and alcohol-free recovery environment please do your part to use common sense when it comes to either doing or not doing something that may affect yours and others continued stay at The
Sober Pad. All rules and regulations are subject to change at the discretion of the Owner and the Resident Council. All residents are considered part of the Resident Council and are encouraged to develop new rules or regulations for the general conduct based on needs they see in the home. These suggestions will be brought to the house meetings and taken to a vote. All general conduct rules are expected to be upheld by residents when staff is not present.
