About The Sober Pad

Meet the Founders

Billy Davis

What Fuels My Vision

My name is Billy Davis and I’m in long-term recovery from addiction. At 23 years old, I broke my arm and was prescribed opiates. Doctors were still telling us that they were safe in those days, but they weren’t. Within a month I was addicted and within a few months, my life had fallen apart.

I desperately wanted a better future for myself, but my addiction felt like a prison trapping me in a nightmare that I couldn’t escape.

I did try to quit on my own, but I ended up having a seizure and fracturing my skull. Finally, at 26 I accepted help and spent the next year deeply focused on my recovery.

That was 15 years ago, and it’s now my life’s mission to help others who are battling the same disease.

If you’re thinking about The Sober Pad as the next stop on your journey, you’ll probably be talking to me. I hope to hear from you.

In service,

Billy Davis

What Drove Us To Take Action

My name is Rachel Davis and I’m a recovery ally.

When we started The Sober Pad in 2021, there was a shortage of well-run, resident-focused recovery residences in our area. The situation wasn’t just a little bad–the living conditions were shockingly substandard.

It really bothered me because I felt that people in recovery deserve better. People deserve a place to live that is free of drugs and alcohol. People deserve a clean and safe space that feels like home. In other words, they deserve a chance.

My husband Billy and I decided to take action and create the housing that we wish existed.

3.5 years later, we run 5 homes for men and there are more to come in 2026.

The journey hasn’t always been easy, but our success stories make everything worth it.

Hopefully we can be a part of your journey as well.

Thanks for reading about The Sober Pad — I hope that we get to welcome you soon.
