ABOUT US

OUR HISTORY.

My name is Billy Davis and I’m a recovering addict. At 23 years old, I broke my arm and was prescribed opiates. My addiction quickly spiraled out of control and my future went from promising to harrowing in the blink of an eye. I desperately wanted a better future for myself but my addiction felt like a prison trapping me in a nightmare that I couldn’t escape. When I tried to quit on my own, I had a seizure and fractured my skull. Finally at 26, I accepted help and spent the next year deeply focused on my recovery.

That was 13 years ago. It’s now become my life’s mission to help others who are battling the same disease.

My wife and I founded The Sober Pad in 2021 after realzing that there was a severe shortage of well-run, resident-focused recovery residences. At the time, no other men’s houses in Brevard County were certified by FARR (Florida Association of Recovery Residences) and most of them had poor living conditions.

This bothered us because we believe that addicts deserve better. We deserve clean and safe spaces to focus on our recovery. We deserve a chance.

So my wife and I decided to create a better alternative, and in the process raise the standard of recovery residences in our area.
